It is a two-storey building with width of approximately 20 meters. Unlike other state museums that usually begin with stone age findings, the Kelantan State Museum started with write-ups and findings from the Japanese occupation. Kelantan was the first state in Malaya that was attacked by the Japanese and it marked the beginning of World War 2 in the Pacific.  Almost the entire ground floor was filled with exhibits on the Japanese occupation. It had the most resources about the Japanese invasion of all the museums I've been to thus far. It is in a somewhat remote area past Tumpat town centre,  on the way to the Thai border. This small museum exhibited various designs of wau or kite in Malaysia, especially those that are native to Kelantan. There were also instructions on how make a wau yourself and how to play it. Apart from that, there were some kite designs from foreign countries too, all with their own unique themes.  The building. It was built around 1889 and was the main residence of Sultan Ismail, who reigned Kelantan between 1920 and 1944. It was later converted into a museum. It displays dioramas of traditional royal ceremonies for engagement, weddings, many more in the main building. As the name suggests, it exhibits many Kelantanese craft works, especially batik collections. It was built in 1939 and was a wedding gift to Yahya Petra by his uncle, Sultan Ismail, who reigned in Kelantan at that time. It is a building with two floors. The ground floor is split into three sections. First section had write-ups about the arrival of Islam to Kelantan and photos of some old mosques. Second section had displays of an old coin with Arabic inscription 'Al-Julus' found in Kelantan. It is believed to be from the 12th century. Some old Islamic manuscripts were also displayed in this section. The third section had exhibits of ceramics with Arabic and Persian design. Other items in the third section were the official attires of mufti and imam, models of traditional and modern 'sekolah pondok' (mini houses used for Islamic studies), plus write-ups about important Islamic figures in Kelantan.
